Hampton Rules

We have strict rules on baits and nets, which makes for a better fishery and fishing experience for everyone

General Rules

We try to keep strict rules in place to keep the fishery as good as it possibly can be and we pride ourselves in offering a fantastic fishing experience. Lets try to keep it that way!

  1. Barbless hooks only (No hooks larger than size 8)
  2. Banned baits: Nuts, Floating bait, Groundbait, Trout pellet paste, Liquidised bread, Bloodworm & Joker, Mole soil or Leam
  3. Only Hampton Springs boilies and coarse pellets allowed
  4. All nets must be dipped before fishing
  5. Keepnets are only allowed during matches (maximum 50 lb per net)
  6. No braided main lines
  7. No fires
  8. No radios
  9. No dogs allowed at any time
  10. All litter to be placed in the bins provided
  11. No children under 14 yrs of age to be left unsupervised
  12. No swimming

Folly Rules

  1. No children under 14 yrs of age to be left unsupervised on Folly
  2. Barbless hooks (Maximum hook size 8)
  3. Maximum of two rods per person
  4. All anglers must have their own suitable 42″ net and large unhooking mat
  5. No fixed leads, all leads must be free running
  6. No braided line – Including hook link
  7. No bait boats
  8. No fires
  9. No radios
  10. Banned baits: Groundbait, Floating baits, Nuts, Pet food
  11. Only Hampton Springs boilies and coarse pellets allowed
  12. No swimming

Handy Tips

  • Feed little and often
  • Fish margins – tight as you can
  • Fish to island and lily beds but don’t rule out open water
  • Scale down tackle
  • 6mm cubed meat
  • Sweetcorn in margins
  • Winter fishing – maggots, castors and worms (pinkies)

The management will not be held responsible for the loss of tackle or damage to cars and reserves the right to amend the rules at anytime.

Gates now opening at 8am and shutting at 4pm
