Match Rules
It is the responsibility of all anglers to be aware of fishery rules prior to fishing. Always check with the bailiff or member of staff if there are any doubts. If any match angler is caught using any of the banned baits or methods listed below then they may be disqualified. Each match angler must have 2 keep nets, all silver fish and fish up to 1.5lb in one net with the remainder in second net. Nets to be left on bank spread out to dry until 10mins before all in.
General Rules
- No children under 14 yrs of age to be left unsupervised
- Barbless hooks only (No hooks larger than size 8)
- Banned baits: Bread, Nuts, Floating bait, Groundbait, Trout pellet paste, Liquidised bread, Bloodworm & Joker, Mole soil or Leam
- Only Hampton Springs boilies and coarse pellets allowed
- Everyone must have an unhooking mat
- All nets must be dipped before fishing
- Keepnets are only allowed during matches (maximum 50 lb per net)
- No braided main lines
- No surface fishing
- No fires
- No radios
- No dogs allowed at any time
- All litter to be placed in the bins provided
- No swimming
Folly Rules
- No children under 14 yrs of age to be left unsupervised on Folly
- You must have a sling and a mat (Over 5cm thick)
- Barbless hooks (Maximum hook size 8)
- Maximum of two rods per person
- Everyone must have an unhooking mat
- All anglers must have their own suitable 42″ net and large unhooking mat
- No fixed leads, all leads must be free running
- No braided mainline or leaders
- No surface fishing
- No bait boats
- No fires
- No radios
- Banned baits: Bread, Groundbait, Floating baits, Nuts, Pet food
- Only Hampton Springs boilies and coarse pellets allowed
- No swimming
- Must drop leads on take
Handy Tips
- Feed little and often
- Fish margins – tight as you can
- Fish to island and lily beds but don’t rule out open water
- Scale down tackle
- 6mm cubed meat
- Sweetcorn in margins
- Winter fishing – maggots, castors and worms (pinkies)
