Opened in 2006 Willows is the most recent match lake at Hampton Springs and has a bridge to the far side. It has become a favourite match lake for some of our regular clubs. It is stocked with a range of fish including mirror/common carp to 20 lbs chub, tench, bream, perch, roach, Crucian Carp and barbel

Two islands run the length of the lake and therefore from most pegs poles can reach and fish to the edge of the islands. Caster, chopped worm, pellet, sweetcorn and luncheon meat, fishing either to the island or in the margins or under and close to bridge give some good match results.

Handy Tips

  • Feed little and often
  • Fish margins – tight as you can
  • Fish to island and lily beds but don’t rule out open water
  • Scale down tackle
  • 6mm cubed meat
  • Sweetcorn in margins
  • Winter fishing – maggots, castors and worms (pinkies)
