Long Island

Long island at 2.5 acres is the 2nd largest lake at Hampton Springs. Carp dominate on this lake with 20lb plus available. If you are looking to catch carp, you will be very unlucky not to catch a number of them on your visit. This is probably the most popular lake ay Hampton Springs. On a hot calm day you are likely to see hundreds of carp basking!

Lake itself has 10 pegs, spaced a fair distance from each other to make ensure each angler has a substantial area to fish, is between 3 and 7' in depth and with three islands with lily beds and the bottom of the lake is mainly gravel and clay. The channel can produce some nice catches in summer. The margins around the lake work well and catches are regularly taken under your feet.

Important: due to the size of the carp which you can catch in this lake you need to use a carp setup: carp rods, minimum 10lb line, 42 inch landing net, and a carp unhooking mat or cradle.

Pole fishing and lighter setup feeders or wagglers are not allowed on this lake.
