The Korda classic pear lead has a very condensed shape and is less affected in flight by cross-winds so the lead will let you cast a very long way. The lead's dumpy shape can be also be used to your advantage, the shape lets the lead plug into the lake bed's silt increasing the resistance to any carp moving away with your rig, making a light lead feel mush heavier.
